How about a re-do...

So, I tried that 100 movies thing and well, I got bored. Stupid answer I know but its the truth. The last thing I wanted to do was to hate watching movies, or put pressure on me that made it about as enjoyable as going to work. So I quit. Now I have a new plan. One that is much less intensive, a more realistic goal. I've begun watching crazy, artistic, off the wall, foreign (sometimes), independent films. I've come to believe that these films exemplify the Art of film making, while not completely throwing away the entertainment factor.  You know what started this? A little Film I like to call RUBBER. Its about a tire, his name is Robert, and well...he has the power to makes heads explode with his mind. Not exactly the kind of plot that screams MASTERPIECE!!! But it was Tarantino meets Pop-Indie film making. The monologue at the beginning about "No Reason" is worth watching by itself, let alone the film. Anyways, I'd like to introduce whomever stumbles on to this blog to a world of films that they didn't know existed, but should.

A Starting point

I like to think of myself as kind of a movie buff. Not one of those pretentious "You have to see this film for the cinematography" types, but a buff. A buff in the sense that I like everything. I like the cliches' of Action films and Michael Bay Explosions and famous Arnold one liners, Buddy comedies, road trips, based on a true story dramatizations and horribly acted but awesomely groosome Horror. I love the aronofskyesque "you have to think in order to understand this movie" movies. I love Christopher Nolan in all his glory. I appreciate actors for their fine work. Sean Penn is a hero of mine. I've come to accept animation as a means of communicating the finer plot points. I think Pixar is at the forefront. I love sequels and Threequels and even the occasional pre-quel that seems like a sequel but do to the time space continuem, its a prequel.( Terminator: SAlvation comes to mind.)
Recently, I've decided that I want to try something. I want to be able to say I've seen all 100 films on IMDB's list of 100 greatest. This list changes all the time so the one I'm following is this one:
http://www.imdb.com/chart/top
Now I have already decided that once I have seen the remaining 26 I haven t on the first 100, I will inevitably have to expand this quest to include the 250. But before I get ahead of myself, I should list off the ones I've seen. Anything in RED has been seen:
